Aluminum Alloy鋁合金

Aluminum alloys resist corrosion, conduct electricity and heat well, are light, are non-toxic, and are easy to work. They are widely used in home appliances, communication equipment, mobile phones, computer peripherals, heat sinks, tableware, food packaging, building materials, lighting, automobiles, aerospace equipment, and more.

Aluminum alloy
SummarySursun Metals supplies a range of aluminum alloys. The 1000 series is pure aluminum. For slightly higher strength choose the 3000 series, for medium strength choose 5052, and for structural use choose 6061.

How to Read Temper Symbols

The temper shows what working or heat treatment the aluminum has had. It affects softness, hardness, and strength.

Temper symbols in brief
SymbolMeaning
OSoft (annealed) condition
H1xStrain-hardened only, with no heat treatment
H2xStrain-hardened, then partially annealed
H3xStrain-hardened, then stabilized
Hx2, x4, x6, x8, x9Degree of hardening (about 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, full hard, extra hard). A larger number means harder.
T6Solution heat-treated, then artificially aged without cold working
